Cosmetic Dermatology
Our board-certified dermatologists are experts in skin health and beauty and provide cosmetic services safely and ethically.
Cosmetic dermatology, also known as aesthetic medicine, is a subspecialty of dermatology that focuses on issues relating to the appearance of the skin, hair, and nails for cosmetic (aesthetic) purposes, rather than for health reasons. Cosmetic dermatology strives to improve aesthetic concerns such as wrinkles, pigmentation, scars, and other visible imperfections.
Our aesthetic dermatology services include BOTOX® and Dysport®.
BOTOX®
BOTOX® is a drug made from a toxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. Dermatologists use it in small doses for temporary smoothing of facial wrinkles and improving your appearance.
BOTOX® injections work by weakening or paralyzing certain muscles or by blocking certain nerves. The effects can last about three to twelve months.
Dysport®
For adults 65 years of age and younger, Dysport® is a prescription injection that temporarily improves the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows. It works by smoothing wrinkles which are caused by muscle contractions and repeated movements. The injection temporarily prevents muscle contractions that cause frown lines.
